What Documents Agents Can and Cannot Sign on Behalf of the Brokerage

Agents can sign standard transaction and disclosure documents as part of representing Easy Realty. Agents cannot sign any document that binds the brokerage financially or creates obligations between brokerages. If a brokerage signature is required, the document must be uploaded to the Support Hub for processing.

As an Easy Realty agent, you are authorized to sign the documents that facilitate a real estate transaction as part of your day-to-day role.

This includes listing agreements, buyer broker agreements, purchase and sale contracts, counteroffers, addenda, amendments, and required disclosures such as transaction broker disclosures and property disclosures.

These are standard transactional documents used to move deals forward.

When you sign these documents, you are acting as a representative of Easy Realty. The agreement is always between the client and the brokerage.

What Requires Brokerage Involvement

If a document impacts brokerage liability, compensation, or legal obligations, it requires broker-level review and execution.

This includes referral fee agreements, commission or compensation agreements outside the MLS, cancellation or termination agreements involving compensation changes, non-standard or custom contract terms, and any document that creates obligations between brokerages.

Even if you negotiated the deal, these documents are not executed at the agent level.

When a Brokerage Signature Is Required

If a document binds the brokerage or involves compensation between parties, it must be signed by the brokerage.

You are responsible for preparing the document, but you do not sign on behalf of Easy Realty.

There are no exceptions to this.

How to Request a Brokerage Signature

Follow this process every time a brokerage signature is required.

Complete the document in full.

Confirm all client and agent information is accurate.

Do not sign on behalf of the brokerage.

Submit a Broker Signature Request through the Easy Realty Support Hub

Clearly indicate that the document requires a brokerage signature.

Turnaround Time

Brokerage signature requests are typically completed within 1-2 hours, during business hours.

Incomplete documents will delay processing, so make sure everything is filled out before submitting.

The Rule to Follow

If the document facilitates the deal, you can sign it.

If the document binds the brokerage, controls money, or creates obligations between brokerages, it must go through the Support Hub for a brokerage signature.
